The 'Okey Doke'

The 'okey doke' is what my boy Damien called the opponent's obvious move—the head fake, the bait, the matador's red cape.

Advice to Democrats and their well meaning minions—don't fall for the 'okey doke' that is the John Robert's Supreme Court nomination. Don't turn the troops away from the primary objective: Bush lied our way into an insane, immoral war in Iraq that, it was reported yesterday, has killed at least 25,000 Iraqis and going on 1,800 American troops. Stay on liar-in-Chief Karl Rove's ass!

And please, it's not about him—his security clearance or his legal liability etc—it's about why he stepped into the Wilson-Plame character assasination mess in the first place: the Saddam nuclear threat was .....an 'Okey Doke!' on the American people to sucker us into the Iraq invasion.

Let the handful of Senators with standing worry about the Roberts nomination. God speed their efforts to stick a few good questions to him, but let's not fool anybody: you will not be stopping his elevation under the present rules of the game.

Meanwhile, let everyone else concerned with the big picture yank even harder on every loose thread in the slowly but surely unravelling tapestry of deceit that is the Bush administration's foreign and domestic fiscal and regulatory policy.

And be alert for new threads....like RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman's recent 'apology' for the 'Southern Strategy' that enabled this quarter century nightmare in the first place. There's plenty of ammunition to unpack from that trunk, if only the media knew where to look.......
